I have two boys, currently 12 and 8, and we do all sorts of geek boy stuff. We read comics, we build Lego space ships, and we play what most child psychologists would call an unhealthy amount of video games. They even have their own Xbox’s and we play a ton of online games together.

I also have a daughter, aged 10, who I have recently discovered is, in secret a bit of a gamer.

I've never been one to play a sports style game but I must say playing this title made me feel as though I was on the green and loving it.

With E3 just around the corner we’re rolling into that quiet time, the calm before the PR hurricane of wild claims and crazy stunts that is E3. No joke, the game I'm most anticipating right now is somehow Lego Batman 2, especially since I learned Bane is in it and they've started promoting it with these faux Arkham City images. So here's five reasons educating you crazy kids as to exactly why the wielder of the piano wire is just the greatest.

So Skyrim? Whew, yeah, that thing. Whoa, I know right?

It’s damn big, daaaaamn big, and leaps and bounds above Oblivion in terms of dynamic people and environments. The landscape doesn’t look copy and pasted, the dungeons don’t look randomly generated and the people don’t look like dolls. It’s pretty impressive.

But I have to confess, despite the fact this game is worshipped by me, there are short comings that I hope Bethesda get off their lazy asses and address for their next Elder Scrolls game. Short comings such as...

Bummer news this week, not disastrous news but still, not happy either. I’ll try not and spoil it for you but if you preordered Bioshock Infinite or Tomb Raider and expected to play them this year you’re money may have been better spent on a giant pretzel or a nerf gun.

At least that’s what I’d spend your money on.
