This game is the definition of a genre sucker punch. A title that does what’s expected, but equally manages to pull off the unexpected, not to mention throwdown with its multiple award winning contemporaries and come out looking at times superior. Kingdoms of Amalur is an underdog with star making power and one of the freshest, most exciting role playing games of this hardware generation.

Spare Change? Is a long running feature on That Aussie Game Site reviewing bargain game purchases for Australian gamers.
I missed out on Resident Evil 5 the first time around. While my contemporaries played the hell out of it I kind of avoided it, partly because I had too many other games on the go at the time, and partly because Resident Evil games have a history ofcausing my testicles to shrink in terror.
But when a critically acclaimed game can be picked up for a mere $10 I find it hard to resist.
From the moment I grasped my controller and hit the play button I could literally feel the sweat beading down my forehead, the thunderous pounding echoing from my chest and the adrenaline fueled fixation on what I would easily call the portal to my youth. Everyone has that one game that does it to them. The question is, is this yours as well?

Just to warn everyone I’m away to the United Kingdom for just about the whole month of April so updates will be spotty (even spottier than normal and no this isn’t an early April fools). I've got some canned articles I'm going to load up to pop up over the next few weeks but I'll be unable to provide current news stories. Sorry. Also if you're not playing the Starhawk multiplayer beta which is available as a free download on the PSN right now you is crazy. Crazy I tell's ya! The game is mad fun.

My wife watches a lot of shows that involve wealthy people being incredibly petty, nasty and generally hideous to each other. She claims that as a social worker and psychology student the show is fascinating to her. Personally it causes me to bleed from my tear ducts.
So I’m unsurprised to learn from a recent study that Real Housewife type shows create an unconscious aggressive response almost identical to that produced by playing violent video games.
