FIFA 10 looks... good!

FIFA is one of those games. You know... the ones where no matter how little the change is between sequels are guaranteed to generate a bucketload, nay two bucketloads of sales. This is certainly what EA has been banking heavily on in recent years.

Forza 3 Screens Are Good At Looking Like Gran Turismo 5

Let's be honest, the racing simulation genre has and always has had one stand-out leader. The rest just sort of fade into mediocrity unless they have some sort of hook or fill some sort of niche the way Motorstorm or Burnout do. All features and car lists aside, the latest screenshots for Forza 3 are looking like they might just be up to par with Gran Turismo 5 in the looks department.

I realise the proof is in the motion, but check out the photo of that Mazda 3 MPS. I'm glad my Pioneer will get to display some pretty racing cars during the three year wait for Gran Turismo 5. Bring it out already!!!

Resonance of Fate Gameplay Trailer Looks Wooish

A new gameplay trailer has snuck on the nets for Tri-Aces Resonance of Fate, which you might be more familiar with from its Japanese title End of Eternity. Lord only knows why they bothered with the name change, both sound poetic and completely lacking in any sort of context which makes them perfect game titles for a J-RPG.

The trailer high lights the Tri-Ace-Battle System of gameplay which lets players move party members around in real time, leap through the air and blast enemies in a slow motion Max Payne, Matrix style (but to be fair they did it first in Blade).

If you want to know what a J-RPG would look like if John Woo directed it click through.

Fallout 3: Point Lookout

The Capital Wasteland of Fallout 3 has become, for me at least, something akin to a favourite amusement park. Whenever I go there I head to my favourite places first and then cruise around looking for anything I might have missed on my last visit. Every once in a while I’m drawn back by a big new attraction that promises new thrills and experiences.

Point Lookout is the spook house, or ghost train, of Fallout 3. Not that the game wasn’t scary in parts before. The subways infested with skin challenged feral ghouls certainly have some tense moments and the first time I ever encountered a Mirelurk I almost crapped in my pants. But Point Lookout is an environment that’s custom made to give you chills, damp cold chills. From its misty boardwalk where you can just make out the silhouette of a rusted ferris wheel, to the deep dark depths of the swamp, where you hear the perverted giggle of the inbred hair lipped locals just before the axe swings at your head. As I said, made for scares.

Skate 2 will be receiving even more DLC soon, wow noticing a trend today? Well below you might be able to find some nice looking screen shots of the new Maloof Money Cup Pack, funny name that. Since Skate 2 is one of my favourite games, and the most addicting behind Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Killzone 2, I’m slightly excited about this. Read on to find out why.

Blowing stuff up has proved to be popular among the lucky owners of a next gen system with the excellent Red Faction: Guerrilla. Don’t believe me? How dare you. Well here is proof with Aaron's review. To further back my outrageous statement there will soon be DLC released for the game, just like every other big title to be released in the last 12 months. Read on to find out what exactly you will be able to blow up.

Words to Pixels: Books that need Games

Yes it’s list time again.

I am a constant reader and have been since high school. I can’t remember the last time I wasn’t reading at least one book. It’s terribly nerdy I know and on the great pyramid of geekness I probably slot in only a few levels above cosplayers and fuzzies (no disrespect intended my fancy dress obsessed and anthropomorphic animal fantasising cousins). But if one of my hobbies or interests was ever on the chopping block, I’d give up gaming before I gave up reading for pleasure.
