Despite its declining popularity I still have a warm damp place in my heart for The Simpsons and their universe. Or to put it another way, I'm a complete Simpsons freak, contantly torturing my friends with lines from the show and obscure Simpsons trivia (did you know Lenny and Carl's surnames are Leonard and Carlson?). I just love the show and all its characters and have extended my love to several of the Simpsons games, all of which from the first appalling one where Bart has to spray paint things to protect against space mutants, have sucked.

Strangely the most recently released Simpsons game for the Xbox 360 and PS3 hasn't graced any of my local disc drives. I finally gave it a bash over the last week after picking up a beaten old copy from my local video store for a mere $15 and found it to be oddly entertaining. It’s like an episode of the show you’ve never seen before but with some game bits wedged between the scenes.

I played the original Overlord from start to finish and enjoyed it a whole bunch. The game cast you in the role of the evil fantasy world antagonist, out to make life hard for the poor rural locals and cause lots of collateral damage with your horde of gremlin like minions. With its unusual gameplay (to everyone who never played Pikimin) and original concept it garnered some pretty positive reviews and became one of those great games no one played. With the sequel I was hoping they’d clean up the games issues and really deliver an amusing an fun alternative to all the wholesome adventuring in other fantasy games. Well, they didn’t actually address any of the problems with Overlord 2, but they did stick in a bunch of new stuff which is kind of the same thing… right?

Ah the Colonial Marine corps, it's a hard life, rescuing tasty colonists daughters from their virginities. Or at least that's what you think when you sign up, before you face your first xenomorph. Then my friend, you're likely to find yourself mercilessly hunted down and having your skull and spine torn out to adorn some alien SoB's fireplace and thats if your lucky. The unlucky ones get to make sloppy alien face love and then carry an alien baby complete with all symptoms, sensitive nipples, ankle bloating, and having your little tyke eat its way out of your chest before you've even been to your first ultrasound.

I feel I owe it to DJ Hero to cover the game properly after my little dig at DJ Jazzy Jeff earlier this week. DJ Hero is the latest 'Hero' style game to come out of Activision's money-making think-tank and is less Viper Room and more Studio 54.

Well what is it we have here? A new trailer for Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time! I really urge you to watch this trailer, it has the trademark humor and gameplay of the series while showing off the new, slightly different, graphic design at the same time.
