Torchlight is currently the game of the week on XBL and is a bargain at only 1200 points. RPG’s have been done to death but Torchlight boasts a fine pedigree, being crafted by the mastermind behind the Diablo series. So dive with me into a dungeon as we explore dank caves and loot for treasure on a quest to find out why this game is a must play.

Trinity is an odd duck, not quite a third person slash em up, not quite a role playing game and not quite a party based game, but a mix of the three with a definite Japanese style. Despite it’s visual links to other titles from developer Koei Tecmo, such as Dynasty Warriors and Bladestorm, the game feels, at a primal level, more like the old Dungeons and Dragons styled RPG’s of the gold age of PC gaming.
While the nostalgic RPG elements are enjoyable, Trinity has a nasty habit of getting a bit too stuck in the past in other ways.

Call of Duty Black Ops has been listed as the main cause of fights in young couples. Whilst that fact isn’t verifiably true there is an undeniable fact that Black Ops needed some more multiplayer maps. So here we are with the aptly named “First Strike” DLC for Black Ops. With 1 new Zombie level and 4 multiplayer levels is it time to spend some Microsoft points?

Double Fine has had a run of interesting alternative mini games following the unfortunate flop of Brutal Legend. Costume Quest was an enjoyable kids game with a very familiar game style, Stacking was another enjoyable game, a puzzler unlike anything I've ever played (review coming soon). Now with Trenched Double Fine are getting all combaty and masculine with World War II mechs, called mobile trenches, battling the aliens that look vaguely like the aliens from Crysis with television screens for faces. The gameplay looks like a mix of third person shooting action with tower defense tactics thrown in as the mobile trenches are able to generate a number of different weapon sentries.

If you didn't own a computer capable of gaining sentience and overthrowing mankind when Crysis was released over a year ago for the PC you very likely didn't get to play it, I know I didn't. So i'm unfamiliar with the below mentioned Major Laurence “Prophet” Barnes, an apparent integral character to the series, and how he ties into the Crysis mythos, which based on this trailer is looking a lot more complicated than 'shoot dem damn commie aliens'.
The playable character in Crysis 2, named Alcatraz, is also a different character from the protagonist of the original Crysis. It's a pretty cool trailer and if I wasn't all ready excited to play Crysis 2, I'd be MORE excited.

This is just plain unfair, not only does March and April usher in a series of excellent new releases for us to drool over, the best games of last year are getting the premium DLC treatment this month as well. It's an absolute embarrassment of riches with Fable 3, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and Halo: Reach unlocking new maps and mode for a few dollars each. I've all ready gone into more than enough detail on the Halo: Reach Defiant map pack (read all about it here if you missed it) but I've dropped some tasty titbits about the Fable 3 DLC and the Assassin's Creed Brotherhood DLC after the jump.
