It was a triumph...but not for long. GLadOS is back, with a few more tricks up her companion cube-filled sleeve. Portal to the rest of the story after the jump.

You put the vroom-vroom back in my heart, as Shift returns for its second lap around the adrenaline covered raceway. Checkered flag and more after the jump.

So here's an ingame trailer for Battlefield 3 trailer that looks, well, pretty spell binding. People concerned about the hanging, drawing and quartering of Infinity Ward at the hands of Acivision's legal and accounting departments should fret not. Battlefield 3 had designs on your war mongering dollars. You can't help but wonder if it's going to look so pretty to us lowly console people, Battlefield as historically been a PC friendly title (excepting the Bad Company games) and I'm guessing the attached trailer is from the PC version. My enthusiasm for gritty war games has worn a bit over the glut of 2010 titles but something this good looking would be hard to pass up.
When this trailer gets a million likes of the Battlefield 3 Facebook page (go here for it) the full trailer will pop so go get liking pronto people!

Here's a new trailer for Kingdom of Amalur entitled Visions. It looks pretty swish, us cloak wearing fantasy RPG nerds are getting pretty spoilt this year no question. There's a few reasons to get psyched for Amalur. Firstly R A Salvatore, better known as the author of all those best selling Forgotten Realms books, not to mention dozens of other fantasy novels, is involved. Also getting hands on is the creator of Image comics hit character Spawn, one Todd Macfarlane. While he's been a controversial character in comicbookdom his involvement guarantees a unique and interesting visual feel. But most exciting is the inclusion of Ken Rolston, a lead designer on Oblivion. That's a pedigree you want to have on a fantasy set RPG.
The game itself is looking like a wilder version of fable with plenty of big monsters needing skewering. But the jury's
still out on the final game, we know from past experience that big name input from people outside the game industry can equal bugger all difference to the final game, but everything so far is looking promising. There's a few more screenshots after the jump.

Kratos was pretty angry, eye goungingly, patricidally angry. But Asura, he makes God of War's surly protagonist look like a mewling infant with diaper rash. Asura fights gods the size of planets and keeps punching until all six of his arms fall off! That's badass behaviour you can take to the bank my friends.
Asura's Wrath premiered at TGS last year but the recent trailer unveiled at Capcom's own event Captivate 11, is too good not to post up here. The game also looks gorgeous, very similar to the Street FIghter IV art style which I'm a big fan of. The selling feature for Asura's Wrath is fully interactive cut scenes. Even when a planet sized boss is crushing you with his finger you will have complete control over Asura. Not quite sure how the cut scene dynamic is going to work that way but I look forward to finding out.

Sweet. I've been waiting for a Kinect game along these lines since I got the thing for christmas. There's only so much pretend sports and pretend dancing I can handle, eventually I'm going to need some pretend beating someone up with super powers. Or at least any Kinect fighting game that isn't Fighters Uncaged *shudder of revulsion*.
PowerUP Heroes lets you play with your Xbox Avatar and select a suit which grants you different powers. There's a few interesting ones in there like the Necromancer suit that has the ability to summon skeletons to fight for you. It's not clear from the crummy announcement trailer embedded below exactly how you play but expect plenty of waving and jumping.
