Man’s best friend is now your Sim’s best friend. The EA Play Label of Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS) today announced The Sims™ 3 Pets, the newest title from the critically-acclaimed studio that created The Sims 3. It will be an entirely new standalone game for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Nintendo 3DS™ and an expansion pack* for the PC/Mac computer systems. The Sims 3 Pets enables anyone to play as they want, whether it’s the builder who creates the ultimate pet sanctuary, the achiever who solves all the mysteries in town, the experimenter who has a lone Sim and a house full of cats, or the storyteller who expresses himself through the adventures of his Sims and their pets.

Hitman Absolution Trailer is Way Better Than Nothing

The Hitman Absolution teaser trailer was such a nothing I almost didn't bother to post it. The full trailer form E3 is much, much better. Sorry Uncharted 3, this is my new favourite trailer out of E3. Sudden, brutal and just a little creepy, everything I love about Hitman games.

MLB 2K11 Review

Ah, the ball field, the sharp crack of the bat on canvas, the smell of oil on a well worn glove, all that gratuitous spitting. Sadly, for me, MLB 2K11 is the closest I’ve come to the experience of attending a baseball game. Unfortunately I live on the other side of the planet from the USA, the only country in the world where baseball is taken seriously.

Even so I'd like to watch a game in a stadium somewhere in the US one day. It’s such an essential piece of America, you can’t avoid it. Now after playing MLB 2K11 I’ll even know what the hell’s going on!

Did I Ever Tell You The Definition Of Insanity?

Far Cry 3 has been announed at E3 and boy does it look cool. While it might leave the vast and lonely, yet strangely beautiful African savanah behind for a return to the jungle it still seems to retain the same amount of crazy. That is something I really liked about Far Cry 2, the developers wern't scared to put someone start raving mad in their game and clearly this has continued with Far Cry 3.

Lets just hope that Far Cry 3 keeps the same variation on combat that made me fall in love with the 2nd, oh and did you see that knife throw!?

Uncharted 3 Reminds us the English are Evil!

Can't resist posting this video due to the poor cutting edge style of it. Faultless dialogue, fantastic scenarios, tuxedos, killer umbrellas, Sullivan being all grizzly and hilarious, Uncharted 3 delivers what I'm currently thinking is the best trailer of E3.

And is that... Helen Mirren, I swear that is Helen Mirren, and the dapper bad fellow is, I think, Dougray Scot, or someone equally sinister and English. But it would jam my scone to know whether or not that's Helen Mirren.

Halooooo Fooooooooour (and Halo CE Returns)

There has been a lot of exciting news out of E3 all ready and come the end of the week I plan on posting a wee wrap up. But I couldn't, as resident Halo fanboy, pass up my duty to post the latest 2 pieces of Halo news out of 343 Studios. Yes there is a Halo 4, yes Masterchief is in it picking up right from the end of Halo 3 and it seems Cortana and da' chief are heading for more mysterious Forerunner trouble. See explodey teaser below. I actually heard the closing notes of the Flash theme song (by Queen FYI) as that teaser closed.

News two, that we knew, Halo CE is getting a sweet HD remake using the Reach engine and the multiplayer levels from Halo CE are also in the pack on a seperate disc as maps for Halo Reach. Very much looking forward to taking an HD spin through the original Halo without that ugly last gen playdough look to the trappings. Seen screenshots after the jump/below.
