After taking iPhones and bored commuters by storm Half Brick’s fruit based slicing action game makes the leap to Xbox 360 Kinect as part of the Xbox Live Winter of Arcade Games.

Not an easy game to make sense of on your first playthrough, Half Minute Hero is an RPG game that decants the experience of the sweeping J-RPG genre into thirty second bites of adventure.

Sega Rally 3 makes a faithful translation to consoles as Sega Rally Online. Letting you destroy and demoralise friends over Live from the comfort of your own couch. Unfortunately you can’t tip a frozen coke over their head to throw them off mid lap, but the advantage of not sitting in someone’s old gum makes up for it.

If you're just a nipper you might not know that the greatest motion picture ever made came out way back in 1986. While people were wearing hypercolour shirts and parachute pants in public, a skinny upstart named James Cameron was making a sequel to renowned director Ridley Scott's space thriller Alien. It's not even slightly an exaggeration to say almost every single scifi shooter you've played, almost every single game involving slimy monsters or heavily armed yahoos, was loosely inspired by Aliens. I must have played a hundred games and felt the influence of Cameron's Colonial Marines and H R Gigers terrifying xenomorphs at the peripheral.

There have been plenty of games featuring the Aliens, even Rebellions lacklustre Aliens Vs Predator 3 just last year, but Gearbox have been working on what feels like the definitive game, a game that really captures the mood of Aliens the movie. Prepare to have any and all scepticism wiped away by the below trailer. And if you haven't seen the movie for gods sake do so immediately.

The Tuesday Cap is a new regular column capping of and commenting on game news for the past week.

Gamescom was on this past week which has dominated the news with hands on write ups, plenty of videos and occasionally creepy cosplay slideshows. Also the creator of Minecraft is awesome and 3D is stupid.

So it’s a pretty obvious news wrap I’m afraid. I’ll try and sneak something interesting in, but no promises.

A sequel to the 2009 surprise hit, Ms. Splosion Man is a classic sequel, like the game it nods smugly to Ms. Pacman in more ways than one. In addition to adding a bow to the character it both expands and improves on the original game.

Expect more platforming, more gibberish humour and a great deal more ‘sploding’. Only this time with added pink.
