10 Games Overdue for a Remake

7. Barbarian

Anyone who has ever played Soul Calibur has probably wondered to themselves why, with all this flashing steel, does no one sustain even a nasty eye injury. How does samurai master Mitsurugi manage to only club people to death with his fabled Muramasa katana? Well children back in the day games like Barbarian didn’t put up with shit like that. In Barbarian heads literally rolled and blood sprayed. Okay, to be fair the characters where just pink pixels with big swords and you could win every fight with the same spin and decapitation move, but at least the injuries were consistent. Really most people bought the game for the perv factor of the box art.

Regardless, we need a fighting game where sword plus neck equals head go flying and a Barbarian remake sounds like the right medicine. Something with a nice cast of sword and sorcery type characters to literally hack each other to bits. Just think about the glee in Ninja Gaiden and Viking when you amputated every possible appendage from your enemies and project that onto humiliating your mate in a one on one fight.
