“Hello my name is Drew, and I’m a COD4-aholic.” To say I love Call of Duty 4 multiplayer is to say that the All Blacks have perhaps slightly underperformed at the World Cup. For that reason any new Call of Duty will get my attention. Call of Duty 3 developer Treyarch were granted a 2 year development cycle instead of only the 1 year that was afforded to them for COD3. Couple that with the fact this game has been built from the ground up on the COD4 engine (still doesn’t get the credit it deserves graphically) and I can see a lot of sleep deprived evenings come mid November. Even the seemingly tired World War II setting is not discouraging me, this series hasn’t been to the Pacific Theatre before and the promise has been made to deliver a new type of enemy who employed guerrilla tactics and fought to the last man. Expect to be having nightmares about Banzai bayonet charges.
Finally COD gets what it has always been missing; co-op. 4 player campaign co-op should be an absolute blast. It will include a competitive mode that has co-op specific challenges just like the multiplayer ones. Multiplayer wise, perks are returning; there was a supposed leaked list on the internet recently but nothing confirmed. Can’t wait to find out what the kill streak rewards will be, don’t think there was any UAV aircraft in ’44, nor helicopter gunships for that matter. As I always say online, “Shooting someone through a wall never gets old!” Lastly for all you Juggersluts out there, come play Hardcore princess!
