As you spend your days in a bean bag, sucking back soft drink and those super hot CC's (man those are so good) following Nathan Drake through adventures tracking the movements of his exploring (and apparently pirating and slaving) ancestor Sir Francis Drake, spare a thought for the people who are actually out following the path of Drake.

A research team led by a man named James Sinclair had a big win this week, uncovering the remains of two of Francis Drake’s lost ships, the Elizabeth and the Delight, in Panama.

Charged up with over the top graphical detail, excitingly explosive weaponry and dune buggies than can be completely revamped with an arsenal of all shapes and sizes; RAGE can be anything from a quick shoot`em up to pass the time to a day burning mission to the truth.

A little bit quest based RPG, a little bit undead apocalypse. Despite its foibles and technical hiccups Dead Island is a title easy to love. In fact after the first half an hour your only real questions are why nobody made a game like this before, it seems like the perfect recipe of classic RPG tropes and zombies.

While there are some notable problems with the game, the pros definitely outweigh the cons with Dead Island.

While this isn't specifically game related, it is a short film made by one guy, entirely in CGI, and it looks absolutely amazing. It's entirely worth the nine minutes of your life you will spend watching it, and very likely the nine minutes following that you will rewatch it.

Possibly the nine minutes after that too. It's a science fiction short film, and really I don't want to reveal more than that, just watch and be impressed. Oh and make sure you pop that thing up to widescreen.

It seemed like I was the last to play Modern Warfare 3. At the very least I was the last of my friends to try it out and I was raging with jealousy. I was not disappointed, but this post will be decidedly negative.

The new guidelines are out for the classification of games in Australia. The revolution has won, viva la R18+! Okay, that might be a little premature, but things are definitely looking up. A day many suspected would never arrive is dawning. Click through to read all about it. Unless of course you're all ready playing Modern Warfare 3, which if your a male between 10 and 40 living in Australia, is pretty likely.

A warning though, some interesting legal elements related to games and classification and the long awaited R18+ rating for Video games came up this week and I’m afraid I lose my temper and rant a bit. There's good news and ill tidings, but consider yourself forewarned.

Saw this today playing on the TV in my local EB Games as I bought a copy of Dance Central 2; yes really, I bring it, so what?

Not often a live action trailer captures the tone of a multiplayer experience well, but this one certainly does. The humorous tale of the Vet and Noob, played by Sam Worthington and Jonah Hill, could be any one of a dozen buddies thrown together in the turbulent world of multiplayer, hell it could easily be me and editor Mick (an accomplished veteran by any standard). Enjoy.
