Little Big Planet is a welcome departure from the non-stop carousel of gore filled shooters.  Part platformer, part creation tool, LBP is the type of game that appeals to all age groups.  Sackboy has to be one of the cutest, most endearing characters seen in a game.  The fact he is virtually a blank canvas with a myriad of customisation options is most certainly a major factor in his appeal.

Single player levels are extremely creative with a ton of replay value, items attained in later levels can be utitlised to unlock new sections of previously played levels.  The creativity of the singleplayer levels
is very impressive and will provide a healthy dose of inspiration for those wishing to create their own.  Already there is some incredibly original user created content online as well as no shortage of pop culture inspired imaginings.

Little Big Planet is one of those games that is hard to define or describe its appeal.  Dressing up a little puppet or plasting stickers over everything has never been so much fun.
