The Conduit is the hot ticket game for Wii Fans itching for a decent dose of FPS action. Unfortunately the addition of Wii Motion Plus has been dropped with the developer stating plainly that it added nothing to the mechanics of their game. It's worth noting that this news comes pretty close after the announcement that Wii Motion Plus has been pushed back from its mid year release.

Capcom 'might' announce Resident Evil: Code Veronica for the Wii sometime this week. Just a rumor at this point but a likely one, with RE5 appearing Friday the timing is right. You might not remember Code Veronica, it was the not so good one featuring Claire Redfield that was completely eclipsed by Resident Evil 4. Read about it here.

Konami Hiring

Japanese language skills? You might want to look into a recent job posting on Konami's Japanese site that mentions a few open positions to work on forth coming Metal Gear Solid titles to appear on consoles (!) and hand held devices. While the hand held devices bit isn't surprising with MGS Touch on the way for iPhone the consoles bit is news to us. At least this debunks the rumor that MGS4 would be the last one, not that anyone really believed that right? Read more here.

Games Kill You and Using Drugs Makes You Bad at Them; Then Kill You

Written by Aaron Mitchell | Wednesday, 11 March 2009 11:35

Games have appeared in the real world media quite a bit the last few days. Most recently a number of developers have hit back at the UK Change 4 Life campaign that shows a poster of a young boy holding a PS3 controller with the headline 'Risk an early death, do nothing'. Sega in particular are unleashing the lawyers on the campaigns ass. Fingers crossed for common sense prevailing. Across the pond in the US an anti drugs campaign is targeing teens who play World of Warcraft, among other games, highlighting that smoking pot will make them, well, bad at raids. Yes the ad campaign is as stupid as it sounds and the several million dollars it cost has been well spent, of course kids who PC game are a high risk group for drug use. Read about drugs and gaming here and read Sega's mad on over another brainless government health campaign here.

Update: Blazblue will be released in the US midyear in arcades and for the Xbox 360 and PS3.

You may have heard that 2D fighters aren't 'dead', what ever that means, it's one of the popular phrases to throw around when you're trying to improve your gamer cred. I wasn't aware game genre's actually died, that there was some mysterious never before seen graveyard that they lumbered of to where they could die in peace, their precious ivory protected for all eternity, actually that might be elephants too.

Don't Feel Too Sorry for Midway

Written by Aaron Mitchell | Tuesday, 03 March 2009 10:00

So as we know longstanding games company Midway has almost finished imploding into itself and becoming a footnote in the history of gaming. The only things they really owned have been sold off, Vid Diesel’s game Wheelman to Ubisoft and Mortal Kombat to an as yet unnamed company (money on EA, expect two MK games a year for the next ten years).
