Here's the latest Fable 3 screens out of Gamescon 2010. They look pretty sharp, much cleaner than the last game.

And... oddly fabulous.

I'll be the first to admit I never quite gelled with Fable 2. Not that I can verify as to why, I liked the game a whole lot, and put stupidly long hours into it but I never really gave it much thought when I wasn't playing it. The game didn't invade my imagination the way the best games do.

In saying that I'm pretty excited for Fable 3. The screenshots are all great and the idea of becoming king half way through the game and then dealing with the challenges that presents is pretty intriguing.

Not so fabulous this one, that guys probably wearing 'pantaloons'

When Molyneaux said 'become king', did he mean 'in your own mind and live at the tip with the other nutjobs'? I wouldn't put it past him
