Those with the car-jacking itch but not a DS (or criminal record), fear not. Take-two is sharing the love, with the critical success GTA: Chinatown Wars making its way to the greasy mitts of PSP owners this spring.
Before you start running off and expecting a remade 3D version, keep your hat on. Though the game will remain essentially the same, it will make use of the Playstation Portables powerful capabilities resulting in revised widescreen visuals, as well as enhanced animations and more story missions. How they plan to alter the aspects of the game that used the touch screen capabilities of the DS could also prove interesting.
There will be both a retail and downloadable version of the game to be available, so early adopters of the PSPgo will have something to play, while the rest of the back catalogue is translated into a digital form.

Whenever a game is said to be exclusive only to later be put onto another platform, this usually gathers an unhealthy amount of attention from those loyal souls we call fanboys. However, this time around you’d be hard pressed to see this happening. Considering that the game only sold a meager 89,000 copies in its first month on American shelves according to NPD figures, the question once again begs; is the DS the right platform for mature titles? The answer is… probably not. That is, if you look at the majority of demographics that own one and the types of games that have proven popular.
The PSP on the other hand, should fair much better with a hardcore following that is sure to be delighted with the news, and after the popularity of the stories series that graced the system, could bolster sales of the title dramatically.
