Meet Bratt. He's the gimp that we keep tied up in the boiler room of the That Aussie Game Site offices. Raised by gypsies until he was 9 years old, Bratt spends 22 hours a day playing videogames and discusses his warped view of videogame culture with his pet Goombas (imaginary). We do not condone and mostly downright disagree with the pure WTF that you are about to read. But he's costing us rent so fuck it - let's put him to work.
Communist undertones in games and how you too can help fight the red menace
In times of such economic melt down we turn to the government to help us by fixing the problems they got us into. But with bunny suicides at an all time high we can’t help but wonder if we can trust those in power. It also makes you look at the games we are playing for any impact that reflects the world as a whole. So I dug deep and found the underlying themes in some of our favourite games. This is part 1.
With games like Resident evil 5 on the market you may look at it as a fun co-op experience and it is. But under its glistening surface you get to see the rotting comu-corpse that it has become. Instead of the game being you against the world it’s devolved into a communist propaganda machine. Now all resources are shared between you and your partner. Unlike Gears of War and Army of two both of which feature a loving Bromance, Resident Evil 5 throws that out the window and gives you a politically correct black but not quite, female accomplice who is just as good at handing down pain as the next man, Only with a vagina. There is very little separating the two characters as well. There is no benefit in being the mini hulk no necked Chris Redfield over the slim svelte Sheva. Equality for all screams res 5. If that doesn’t show rampant communism I don’t know what does.
Did I forget to mention the enemy is megalomaniac who wishes to rule the world all by himself? But our weak on there own but strong together heroes have to work together and share all resources in order to take down the strong and ever present capitalism. As Karl Marx said (possibly while high on crack) “the theory of communism may be summed up in one sentence: Abolish all private property” and unless a zombie version of Mr.Marx is staring at me thru my bedroom window possibly while high on crack….I’m sure I had a point there….oh well fuck it.
I know by now that you’re all up in arms ready to give your life to protect your games. But I’m here to say you don’t really have to. There are other ways of fighting the red menace pawing at the gates of this great country. You could play the game without any help from your team mate, be the first to get to a crate and its contents, kill all manjini yourself while using your partner as a glorified pack mule oh and eat all the Vegemite you can get your hands on. Because we all know Vegemite kills communism dead.
