After I posted my slash fiction series featuring an intimate but passionate liaison between Zangief and Ken from Steet Fighter II to Capcom they have strangely seen fit to pointedly not invite me to their special events such as the recently passed Captivate 09.
Well restraining order for lewd communications be damned, here’s the latest goss on Lost Planet 2 in helpful dot points.
- Lost Planet 2 will have a demo out over Xbox Live around the time of E3 this year, that should be around mid June.
- Lost Planet 2 will be exclusive to the Xbox 360 but Capcom are considering porting it to the PC and PS3. The previous game ended up on both after a bit of time so its a fair assumption the sequel will as well.
- The cooperative boss battles in the game look just totally mintox, that's right: mintox. As evidenced by this video here. How terrific does that look? Players will also be able to leap into the monsters mouths and blow them up from within, like some demolitions trained tapeworm. Both gross and awesome.
- Coop will allow for at least four players at this stage.
- Lost Planet 2 was created with MT Framework 2, a new tool that allowed for larger and more elaborate monsters than the last game. The players size on screen has also been enlarged from the last game.
- Although the world of Lost Planet 2 has thawed from the arctic wastes of the original Lost Planet, Thermal Energy is still the driving force in the game. Everyone wants to get it, including the new gang of Snow Pirates you have signed up with.
- Players can now 'dash' while moving and there will be a whole host of new weapons and Vital suits (those mechs you can hop in and pilot) available to play with.
- Capcom are really pushing Lost Planet 2 to be a big hit in the West, they want as many people playing Lost Planet 2 as play Gears of War 2.
- Lost Planet 2 probably won't be available till 2010.
So that's the summary with a light garnish of speculation.
